Amanita Muscaria Trip

About this site

Who publishes Amanita Muscaria Trip, how the information is researched and checked, and why the shop behind it sells no fly agaric products.

Amanita Muscaria Trip is published by the team behind Avalon Magic Plants, a Dutch smartshop. We say this first because it matters for how you read the rest.

Avalon Magic Plants does not sell fly agaric, panther cap, muscimol or any product made from them, and this site contains no product links. The fly agaric is on List II of the Dutch Opium Act, and we would not sell it anyway: its strength cannot be predicted and its closest relatives are deadly. We publish this site because people search for the fly agaric trip every day and much of what they find is either product marketing or folklore repeated as fact.

How the information is put together

  • Facts about the species, its chemistry and its effects come from scientific publications, poison centre data and public authorities such as the FDA and Germany's Federal Institute for Risk Assessment. Sources are linked where we use them.
  • Legal information comes from the published text of each law, with the date we checked it. Where we could not verify a claim, we left it out.
  • The trip reports are composites, clearly labelled as such. We do not publish invented testimonials or reviews.
  • We give no instructions for finding, identifying, preparing or dosing any mushroom, and we make no health or medical claims of any kind.

Every page shows when it was last updated. If you find something out of date or wrong, Avalon's customer service can pass it on to us.

Who is behind the shop

The Avalon Magic Plants mascot, a smiling cactus, winking

Avalon Magic Plants is a smartshop in the Netherlands that sells only to adults and ships from the Netherlands. It sells products that are legal there. The fly agaric is not one of them.
